Today Only: Save Over 50% Off a 2TB Internal SSD for Steam Deck or ROG Ally

You’ve probably noticed that storage prices have surged this year. Today only, in Best Buy’s Deal of the Day, you can save over 50% off a beefy 2TB internal SSD PCIe Gen 4 x4 M.2 2230 for gaming handhelds, including Steam Deck and ROG Ally. It’s still not cheap at $259.99 (see it at Best Buy), but it’s a heck of a lot cheaper than the $531.99 MSRP it normally costs nowadays. Grab it before the deal ends.

WD – BLACK SN770M 2TB Internal SSD for $259.99

I’m a huge fan of the Steam Deck and handheld gaming PCs in general. You simply can’t beat the convenience of playing nearly your entire Steam library basically anywhere in the world. Just the other day I took my kid to soccer practice, and I played Max Payne 3 on my Steam Deck while I waited. It’s a glorious thing, being untethered.

The problem lately is the cost of extra storage. MicroSD cards and SSDs have both shot up in price recently, thanks to AI companies vacuuming up the world’s stock for use in data centers no one wants built near them. Best Buy is offering 2TB of speedy internal storage for Steam Deck and ROG Ally for just $259.99. In the year 2026, that’s a killer deal.

The only catch is you have to engage in some DIY tinkering to perform the upgrade. You’ll need to crack open your device, remove the old one, install the new one, and recover or re-image the OS. It’s not rocket science, but it’s not as easy as sliding in a new microSD card, either. If you have a Steam Deck, you can check out Ifixit’s upgrade guide here. ROG Ally owners can find instructions from the Republic of Gamers itself here.

If you’re not up for the installation and you have a Prime membership, you can get a 2TB microSD card from Lexar for the same price at Amazon (also today only, thanks to Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale). If you can make do with less storage, you can get the 512GB version for $67.99 or the 1TB for $127.49. It’s not quite as convenient as having a single storage device on your Steam Deck or ROG Ally, but it’s a lot easier to install. Your call.
