CD Projekt has confirmed the global release times for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered.
As detailed in a social media post, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered comes out on September 29 at 12pm in Poland, where CD Projekt is based. All other release times across the globe are tied to this CET release. So, if you’re wondering if it’s worth keeping the day free (book off from work, perhaps?), the farther west you are, the earlier the game goes live.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered launches across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch 2, but it’s also a free upgrade for those who own the base game. The remaster will also be sold on PC via Battle.net for the first time. There’s pre-purchase for Switch 2 and Battle.net (those are the only new versions of the game, as The Witcher 3 didn’t exist before on those two platforms). GOG, Steam, Epic, Xbox and PlayStation are getting the remaster as an update, so there’s no preload on those platforms.
Expect a slew of upgrades and enhancements to visuals, performance, gameplay, and more. There’s enhanced combat, improved traversal and movement, new witcher signs effects, revamped mount handling, enhanced monster behaviors, a skill tree revamp, transmogrification, expanded photo mode, and new finishers. The launch precedes the arrival of Songs of the Past, The Witcher 3’s third expansion, due in 2027.

This week, The Witcher 3 fans reacted to an official comparison clip featuring a snippet of side-by-side gameplay from the original game and the remaster, with some saying the new version actually looks worse. In the clip, you can see Geralt casting Igni on a group of drowners in the swamp. While the new version of the game has much greater detail on Geralt’s armor, along with much more defined water, the reflections seem to be divisive.
