The Project Hail Mary 4K UHD Preorder Price Drops to a New Low for Amazon Prime Day

Project Hail Mary is one of the best films of 2026 so far, but it still doesn't have an official Blu-ray release date. You can place a preorder for your own copy of the movie, however, and Amazon has already dropped the price of the 4K edition for Prime Day.

If you already placed a preorder for the 4K version earlier this month, then you're automatically going to get this discounted price. Amazon's preorder price guarantee is one of the reasons it's the best place to buy 4K movies online these days. If you haven't placed your order yet, right now is a great time to do so. This is the lowest price we've seen so far.

Based on Andy Weir's novel of the same name, Project Hail Mary is the story of a science teacher who gets sent on a last-ditch mission to space to save everyone back on earth. IGN's review of the movie called it a "thrilling, heartfelt, and hilarious" rollicking sci-fi blockbuster, and after seeing Ryan Gosling's performance myself, I absolutely agree.

As for why there's no release date yet, that's most likely tied to the film's success at the box office (which included an extended theatrical release) and rather unusual streaming release. Unless you want to buy it digitally, the only place you can stream the movie is via an MGM+ subscription.

Special Features Included

According to the product page, the 4K version of the movie will offer a few extras in addition to the movie. Here's all of the bonus features included:

  • Commentary by Directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Earth's Favorite Eridian

More 4K Movie Deals for Prime Day

While this preorder price drop isn't technically a Prime Day deal, it is happening during a ton of really good 4K Blu-ray deals at Amazon. If you're looking to pad your collection with some absolute masterpieces, you can check out a number of Christopher Nolan movies on sale for their lowest prices ever. There's also a massive 6-film Middle Earth box set deal that includes all of the LotR movies.
