Daredevil: Born Again fans are excitedly discussing the upcoming return of a controversial character, whose role split viewers back during the original Netflix series.
Filming for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is currently underway in New York, and has already provided spoilers for various other returning characters, as well as hints at where next year's episodes will take the series' storyline.
Warning! Potential spoilers for Daredevil Season 3 follow…
Now, yet another major character return has been spotted in photos published by Getty Images and video from celebrity photographer José Pérez, revealing the return of Elodie Yung as Elektra.
While Marvel itself has avoided commenting on past set leaks directly, there's no doubt over the photos' legitimacy. The reveal also follows similar set leaks showing Mike Colter and Finn Jones back as Daredevil's fellow New York defenders Luke Cage and Danny Rand, whose return fans had also been expecting.

Recent months have seen growing speculation that Elektra would reappear in Season 3, and Yung has only fanned the flames further by showing herself training for an upcoming role, which fans strongly believed was that of the deadly assassin. However, not all fans are pleased by her apparent return — as her character proved divisive back during Netflix's original Daredevil run.
"They are pulling out all the stops for S3," wrote one fan in a reddit thread discussing the video. "So so so so so excited to see it!!!!!"
"Matt Murdock's prison arc with Powell, Fisk in exile, new Bullseye suit, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage may run for mayor, the return of Danny Rand and Elektra, the redemption of Cole North," added ElectricalBand4481. "This season is going to be STACKED."
"Oh f***," added Icy_Prior. "Maybe they really are doing the Zdarsky run where she takes up the Daredevil mantle for a little bit, while Matt is in prison."
But other fans commented that they found Elektra frustrating to watch in the original series, with her character designed to tempt Matt Murdock back to his past — away from his focus on helping others, and from his relationship with Karen Page.
"This is just an enormous red flag for me," countered No-Student6619. "Elektra was legitimately THE WORST character in the entire OG show. She was VERY ANNOYING, sometimes even to the point I wanted to turn off the show when she appeared on screen."
"Have to agree," added Appropriate_Foot242. "Without the Punisher plotline Season 2 of the Netflix show is legitimately awful due to Elektra and The Hand."
Elodie Yung's Elektra was last seen in 2016's The Defenders miniseries, where her plotline wrapped up with her missing, presumed dead. While initially presented as a complicated ally, Elektra eventually developed into an antagonist, and a key part of the New York-dominating plan set up by ninja monk clan The Hand. Elektra's return next year is certainly interesting timing, with The Hand set to turn up in next month's Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Daredevil: Born Again is expected to return with new episodes next spring, as the show picks up with Matt Murdock in jail, Wilson Fisk in exile, and a growing list of other returning superheroes in its cast. In the meantime, Daredevil actor Charlie Cox has suggested he'll be staying street level, rather than getting involved in an Avengers call-up.
