Catan Matches Its Lowest Price Ever With a Prime Day Lightning Deal

Catan, formerly known as The Settlers of Catan, is currently on sale for nearly 50% off its regular price during Amazon Prime Day, matching its previous low from a year ago. Catan is one of the best strategy games of all-time, providing an experience that goes beyond familiar games like Monopoly and Sorry by adding resource gathering and the ability to outwit your opponents into the mix. The result is a gateway game for many (myself included) into the strategy genre and serves as a great entry point overall into modern board games.

Catan Matches Its Lowest Price For Prime Day

Despite releasing more than 30 years ago, Catan is still regarded highly today by many modern board game enthusiasts. Sure, there are plenty of games that have iterated on the strategy formula, but Catan remains a classic board game for a reason. It masterfully blends resource gathering, route planning, trading, dice rolls, and a bit of luck into an experience that just about anyone can grasp.

Because Catan's game board is variable, no two games will play out the same. This random element allows for near-endless playthroughs that require you to adjust your strategy on the fly while adapting to your opponents' moves to claim victory.

The 6th Edition of Catan, currently on sale for its historical low price of $29.99 for Prime Day, features refreshed artwork, upgraded components, and a new rulebook that makes teaching the game to new players easier than ever. And, once you've mastered the base game, there are plenty of great Catan expansions to sink your teeth into.
