At Apples September iPhone 16 reveal event, the tech giant also revealed the new AirPods 4. The latest version of Apple's signature earbuds now come in two variants, one with and one without active noise cancellation.

The AirPods 4 charging case has been updated as well, with USB-C connectivity as well as wireless charging. The case also has an updated speaker to help with the FindMy system.

AirPods 4 will be available on September 20 at $129 for the base model, and $179 with ANC.

AirPods Max finally adds USB-C support

Also on the subject of audio, Apple announced a few updates for the AirPods Max – there's a collection of great-looking new colorways, and they now have USB-C for charging.

Apple also announced new software updates coming to the AirPods Pro 2 focused on hearing health. AirPods Pro 2 will now have a hearing protection mode on by default, which will dynamically adjust loud noises and reduce how grating they are on your ears. There's also a new clinically-validated hearing test, where users can take a 5-minute test in order to gauge the health of their ears and see if they have any hearing loss. On that note, AirPods Pro 2 will be usable as a hearing aid.
