It’s almost summer, and while that does mean we should probably all be finding opportunities to touch grass, it also means a new spread of releases across your favorite streaming services. While Disney+ hasn’t announced anything new from the worlds of the MCU or Star Wars, there are still plenty of big additions coming to the service in June.
One of the biggest streaming premieres we’ll be getting this month is Avatar: Fire and Ash, while other highlights include a behind-the-scenes documentary for Hamilton’s 10th anniversary and a new Adventure Time spin-off. Of course, there’s also plenty of new series and episodes from the Disney Channel side of things.
Without further ado, here’s everything coming to Disney+ in June.

Bonnaroo Livestream Day 1 – Live at 7:45pm ETThe X-Files: I Want to Believe – Director’s Cut | Bonus Feature
Now this is a funky one. The X-Files ran from 1993 and 2002, and is nothing short of a classic of the sci-fi genre. Back in 2008, the series’ creator Chris Carter returned to the series for a feature film: The X-Files: I Want to Believe. We didn’t have the kindest things to say about the horror-inspired film in our original review, BUT, this is a never-before-seen director’s cut, so you never know. I’ll certainly never complain about getting some more Mulder and Scully on my screen.
Otherwise, Disney+ will be livestreaming the Bonnaroo music festival from Manchester, Tennessee. You can check out the full lineup and schedule for that here.

Bonnaroo Livestream Day 4 – Live at 5pm ETMuppets Most Wanted: Unnecessary – Extended Cut | Bonus Feature
Muppets Most Wanted continues the extended cuts theme of the month. We were actually pretty big fans of the 2014 Muppet Movie when it was first released, calling it a “fun, joyful film that once more reminds us why the Muppets are so wonderful” in our review. The extended cut reportedly includes around 12 minutes of extra footage.

Perhaps the biggest movie streaming premiere on this list, James Cameron’s latest Avatar movie is landing on Disney+ toward the end of the month. IGN’s review praised the film with a 9 out of 10 score, though the future of the franchise remains uncertain given how much money they’ve been costing.

Disney+ will be getting a “recap” of the first three seasons of Soy Luna, an Argentinian series from Disney Latin America that should be getting a fourth season some time this year.
And last but certainly not least, Disney+ will be getting a new spin-off of the Adventure Time series we previously claimed had accomplished the “perfect finale” in a now very old review. After trying out a more adult-focused spin-off with the Fionna and Cake series, we’re heading back to the Land of Ooo with Finn and Jake. Expect to see some other familiar faces returning over the course of ‘self-contained episodes,’ which, based on the announcement poster, will also feature a new art style.
