Crunchyroll Launches Major Ad-Free Deal for UK Fans During Ani-May

Crunchyroll has just launched an amazing deal for new and returning UK anime fans.

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to clear your backlog, or simply want to watch those anime episodes your friends keep recommending that you swore you’d get around to one day, this could be the perfect opportunity.

To celebrate the start of Ani-May, you can get three months of Crunchyroll’s Fan plan for just £1.49/month (down from the usual £5.99) until May 21.

With this plan, you get ad-free access to the entire library, new episodes shortly after they air in Japan, offline viewing on one device, 5% off select Crunchyroll products, and free UK shipping on orders over £65 to boot.

Sounds good, right? Well, why not check out the Mega Fan subscription? It would usually cost you £6.99 a month, but you can get it for £1.99 a month for the next three months. You get everything above, plus streaming on 4 devices at once, access to the Crunchyroll Game Vault (including titles like Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth and River City Girls), 10% off products and free shipping on orders over £45. For an extra 50p a month, this is a pretty sweet bargain.

No matter the plan you pick, you’re essentially getting three months of ad-free access to a massive anime library for under £6. You can’t ask for much better than that.

This deal isn’t the only thing Crunchyroll is doing to celebrate Ani-May 2026. It’s a packed lineup, headlined by the 10th annual Anime Awards on May 23. If you grab this streaming deal now, you’ll be all set to tune into the ceremony. While fan voting has already ended, the nominee list is stacked with heavy hitters like Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Spy x Family, all of which you can watch on Crunchyroll. You can check out the full list of nominees – including Anime of the Year 2026 – here.

Is it Actually Worth Your Money?

If you’re on the fence about this deal, the content slate alone justifies the £1.49 entry fee, at least in my personal opinion.

We’re currently enjoying the return of One Piece with the Elbaph arc, which started in April, alongside new breakout hits like Daemons of the Shadow Realm and loads more this Spring. But for me, the standout offering on Crunchyroll is CHAINSAW MAN – THE MOVIE: REZE ARC. I’ll be honest: I had never watched a single episode of Chainsaw Man before this, yet the film ended up as my personal highest-rated watch of last year. It’s brutal, flashy and experimental – check it out if you haven’t already!

You might be thinking that this Ani-May deal is very generous, and it is. But I’d be remiss to not remind you that it follows a controversial price hike in February 2026. Monthly subscriptions were raised across all tiers, and free ad-supported viewing was phased out. Crunchyroll is clearly trying to win back fans who may have lapsed after they lost free access to anime.

If you’re not in a position to spend extra money at the moment, you don’t have to miss out. Crunchyroll is hosting anime watch parties on YouTube, with the next one focusing on “heart-racing, adrenaline-pumping sports anime” on May 9 at 10am PT.

However, if you’re a UK fan, there likely isn’t a better way to spend £2 a month this summer. With gems like Witch Hat Atelier, Solo Leveling, and The Apothecary Diaries now streaming, you’ll want to act fast. This is likely to be the best deal you’ll find for Crunchyroll subscriptions this year. If you want access to the Game Vault, grab the Mega Fan deal now. If you’re mainly interested in the Reze Arc movie or catching up on some classics, sign up for the Fan plan right away before the offer ends on May 21.
