When it comes to PS5 controllers, there has been no shortage of colors or game tie-in variants. Sony’s not done yet. To coincide with the May 27 release of the upcoming game 007 First Light, Sony is releasing a new golden controller. It’s called the 007 First Light Limited Edition DualSense Wireless PS5 Controller, and it looks pretty great. Preorders are supposed to go live at 10 a.m. ET, but Target pulled the trigger early, so you can preorder it now for $84.99.

The controller is mostly gold, with black buttons. In the center of the touch pad is the 007 logo, complete with the handgun coming off the 7. The circular logo has “barrel-inspired” lines radiating out across the entire face of the controller. It looks classy.
007 First Light is being made by IO Interactive, the same team behind the Hitman: World of Assassination trilogy. It’s an origin story that follows a young James Bond, who has just entered MI6’s training program and has yet to earn his number. According to the game’s description, “When a mission to stop a rogue agent ends in tragedy, he must join forces with his reluctant mentor Greenway to expose a deep conspiracy and stop a looming coup at the heart of the State.”
The game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 27. A Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to release later in the year. The game itself is also available to preorder now. It comes in a standard edition as well as a Legacy edition that includes a Golden Gun replica, along with a stand and secret compartment. If you preorder the game, you’ll get 24-hour early access to it, along with some exclusive in-game outfits and accessories.
