A new collection of the complete series of The Office is up for preorder – but this isn’t your grand-pappy’s version of The Office. Instead of gathering the broadcast versions of the show, as in previous collections, this box set has the “Superfan episodes.” These are extended cuts of every single episode from all nine seasons of the show. The Office: Superfan Complete Series is now up for preorder on Amazon for $74.98, with a release date of June 2.
The Office: Superfan Complete Series
Typical broadcast sitcom episodes usually run 21 or 22 minutes to account of commercials. These Superfan episodes run about 30 minutes each, give or take. Scale that across all nine seasons, and this box set has over 25 hours of new material that’s been edited in by original editor David Rogers. That’s several seasons’ worth of additional scenes and story lines over the course of the series.
Now, this isn’t the first time these Superfan episodes have been available to watch or buy. You can stream them on Peacock right now (you can sign up here, if you’re not already a subscriber). But if you want to be able to access them when you’re between Peacock subscriptions (or during internet outages), you might want to own them in physical form.
The Amazon listing for The Office: Superfan Complete Series is so fresh it doesn’t even have box art yet – but you can rest assured that will come along eventually. If you preorder now, you’ll get Amazon’s “Preorder Price Guarantee,” which means if the price drops prior to release (as it often does with Amazon), you’ll only have to pay the lowest price it dropped to, even if it goes back up (which also happens pretty often). So lock in your preorder now if you’re interested in picking up this box set.
