DC Reveals Ambitious Lineup of Comics for Pride Month 2026

DC Comics has made a habit of celebrating Pride Month every year, but they’ve revealed an especially ambitious lineup of new comics for what they’re calling DC Pride 2026. This year’s event will see the release of new comics and graphic novels centered around two LGBTQ icons in particular, Dreamer and Galaxy.

DC Pride 2026 hinges on three new releases – the YA graphic novel Galaxy: As the World Falls Down, the one-shot issue Justice League Intergalactic Special #1, and the miniseries Justice League: Dream Girls – A DC Pride Event. Read on to learn more about each of these new projects.

Galaxy: As the World Falls Down

Creative Team: Jadzia Axelrod, Rye Hickman & Jodie Troutman

Release Date: May 5

This YA graphic novel is a sequel to Galaxy: The Prettiest Star and continues the story of teen hero Taylor Barzelay as she battles the Vane and deepens her bond with fellow hero Dreamer.

“Galaxy: As the World Falls Down is about what comes next after coming out,” said Axelrod in a statement. “It’s about being a teenage superhero while also being trans and queer, feeling anxiety about life after high school while making sure the world doesn’t end, and what to do when a powerful empire wants you dead.”

Justice League Intergalactic Special #1

Creative Team: Jadzia Axelrod, Nicole Maines, Travis Moore, Tamra Bonvillain, and Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou

Release Date: April 29

This one-shot issue has the distinction of featuring the first team-up between Galkaxy and Dreamer in DC’s core continuity. In this story, Star Sapphire assembles a team of Justice Leaguers to liberate the planet Naltor from the Witch Queen.

“The beauty of this team-up is that Dreamer’s and Galaxy’s lives have gone in such different directions,” said Axelrod. “Galaxy is a respected member of the Justice League, but her JL teammates see Dreamer as a war criminal. Can their friendship survive their increasingly divergent perspectives? You’d have to be really good friends to weather that. You’d have to be the best friends in the universe.”

Justice League: Dream Girls – A DC Pride Event

Creative Team: Nicole Maines, Jadzia Axelrod & Various Artists

Release Date: June

This four-issue series opens in the wake of Justice League Intergalactic Special #1, with Galaxy and Dreamer living out idyllic lives as Amazons in Themyscira. That dreamlike paradise turns out to be a ruse created by longstanding Justice League villain The Key. Expect this series to have a major impact on both Galaxy and Dreamer’s place in the DCU going forward. Each issue will also feature backup stories connecting to other new DC titles in 2026.

Additionally, DC will publish a series of DC Pride variant covers spotlighting various LGBTQ characters like Batwoman, The Question, Harley Quinn, and Tim Drake.

In other DC news, the company seems poised to undo one of their most controversial Superman plot twists. Also, the latest chapter of Absolute Batman features some of the series’ biggest twists to date.
