Jack O’Connell and Others Join A Quiet Place 3, Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy Sign on to Reprise Their Roles

Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe are officially reprising their roles for A Quiet Place Part 3. Three new cast members will also join the film that’s set to premiere July 30, 2027.

Director and writer John Krasinski gave fans an update for the long-awaited third mainline entry with a post across social media of a spread of scripts with the actors’ names on the cover page. “So proud to be a part of this #AQuietPlace family… old and new!” Krasinski said. “Here we go!”

The photo confirms that Blunt, Murphy, Simmonds, and Jupe will be back to play Evelyn, Emmett, Regan, and Marcus, and that Jack O’Connell, Jason Clarke, and Katy O’Brian are joining the fray in currently unknown roles.

Those three fresh faces will help bolster the series’ already star-studded cast. O’Connell has remained a notable name since the 2000s but has recently become an especially hot commodity in the horror world thanks to his standout performances in Sinners — now an Oscar-winning film — as well as 28 Years Later and its sequel, The Bone Temple. Landing a spot in A Quiet Place Part 3 means adding another popular horror franchise to his resumé, though it’s unclear how prominent his role in A Quiet Place Part 3 will be.

Clarke, meanwhile, has been in everything from Zero Dark Thirty and Oppenheimer to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Terminator Genisys. O’Brian may be best known for her part in Love Lies Bleeding but also appeared in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, The Mandalorian, and The Running Man. Their roles also have yet to be disclosed.

As reported by Variety, in addition to writing and directing duties, Krasinski is attached as a producer with Allyson Seeger via their Sunday Night banner. Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form are also on board as producers. Production on A Quiet Place Part 3 is expected to begin in New York this spring.

Although A Quiet Place: Day One kept the post-apocalyptic sci-fi universe in audiences’ ears when it arrived in 2024, it’s been nearly five years since A Quiet Place Part 2 continued the original film’s story in 2021. That puts six years between its theatrical premiere (or even longer if you count its limited, pre-COVID delay release) and the 2027 release date of A Quiet Place Part 3. With so much time having passed, it means the returning cast is much older. While plot details have yet to be officially revealed, don’t expect the third movie to pick up right where the second left off.

A Quiet Place Part 3 is currently set to sneak its way into theaters next summer. Until then, you can check out our reviews for A Quiet Place 1, 2, and Day One. You can also learn about how Krasinski tucked a few details into the second film that may tease what’s to come.
