Euphoria Season 3 Will Finally Begin Filming in January 2025

Euphoria is back on track, as the official Euphoria X/Twitter account confirmed that Season 3 will begin production in January 2025.

HBO announced earlier this year that it had delayed the Zendaya-led drama following rumors of its cancelation. It was a worrying update that came with the news that the network was allowing its cast to pursue other opportunities while the pieces came together. Now, as Variety reports, the entire main cast is confirmed to return for Euphoria Season 3 when production begins early next year.

That means stars like Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, and Jacob Elordi are back after a long break between seasons. No story details, including whether the team decided to pursue the rumored five-year time jump idea, have been revealed.

“I am thrilled that we are ready to begin production on Euphoria in January,” executive vice president of HBO programming and head of HBO drama series and films Francesca Orsi said in a statement. “We could not be happier with our creative partnership with Sam and this incredible cast. We look forward to bringing this new season of Euphoria to life for the fans.”

Euphoria Season 2 premiered in January 2022, meaning it will have been nearly three years since fans saw its characters together on screen. The time since the show was last on screen has been tough for the Euphoria team. Last year, work in Hollywood was brought to a halt as a result of the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, which ended in November and September, respectively. Angus Cloud, who played series regular Fezco “Fez” O’Neill in Euphoria, also passed away at 25 last July. A tribute to the late actor was later added to each season of the show.

Euphoria Season 3 has no release date, but today’s update signals a positive change in direction. It’s return should be particularly exciting for HBO watchers, as the company announced shortly after the release of Season 2 that it was its second most-watched show. The network has had a strong run the last few years thanks to shows like The Last of Us and its Game of Thrones continuation, House of the Dragon, which is now in the middle of its second season.
