Star Wars Skeleton Crew Disney+ Release Date Brought Forward a Day

Disney has brought forward the Star Wars Skeleton Crew release date by a day.

Skeleton Crew was set to hit Disney+ on December 3, but will now release on the streamer with a two-episode series premiere on December 2 at 6pm PT.

Skeleton Crew is a Star Wars take on The Goonies, with Jude Law starring as Force user Jod Na Nawood. It takes place in the same time frame as The Mandalorian series and after the events of Return of the Jedi. Deep cuts include the recreation of an element of the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978, and the appearance of Teeks from Ewoks: The Battle for Endor.

Disney also released a list of each episode’s release date and their directors via a tweet, below. The eight-episode series comes to an end on January 14, 2025.

Other Star Wars shows confirmed to be in the works include Andor Season 2, which hits Disney+ on April 22, 2025, and Ahsoka: Season 2, with the Jon Favreau-directed The Mandalorian & Grogu movie set for 2026. Disney recently announced a new Star Wars trilogy helmed by Simon Kinberg, which is not a continuation of the Skywalker Saga. Rather, that’s coming via the Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy-directed sequel to the universally panned Star Wars: Episode 9 – The Rise of Skywalker. It will tell the story of Rey as she looks to rebuild the Jedi Order roughly 15 years after the events of that film.
