Welcome back to another week of daily discounts. Please excuse my slight absence last week—I was off smashing Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2, a shooter with big guns and Power Armour-soiling enemy swarms. I also got to literal grips with a Moza Truck Wheel setup that let me live out my nichest, Pork Chop Express from Big Trouble in Little China fantasies. But, hey, enough about me; let’s get you sorted with the best deals of the day, bar none.

In retro news, I’m celebrating the 41st birthday of Mario Bros., the arcade cabinet that lauched a plumbing empire. Partially inspired by some of Joust‘s mechanics (and an Italian-American landlord hounding Nintendo for rent), Mario Bros. was a non-scrolling arena affair that was quite addictive, especially in simultaneous two-player. Interestingly, it was made by a tiny team of just five people, all of whom were credited in its great, great, great, (great) grandchild, Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Sadly, we’d rarely see such a lineage occur in modern game development, given how lay off happy this industry has become.

Rick and Morty: The Anime Review Episodes 1-2 Review

Seven seasons in, Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty has defined a specific sense of humor and style: witty, referential humor combined with grotesque sci-fi hijinks. It’s become so recognizable that it’s surprising how well it translates into another genre with its own iconic look – anime. Rick and Morty: The […]
