Nintendo is releasing Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective, a 212-page hardcover art book that delves into the creation and evolution of the Metroid Prime trilogy. Partnering with Piggyback, the book is set to launch on July 31, 2025. The premium collectible was originally priced at $49.99, but preorders are now available with a $15 discount from Amazon.
The anthology spans over 20 years of Metroid Prime history, offering insights into the series’ development, including behind-the-scenes notes and anecdotes from the teams who brought the trilogy to life. There’s also exclusive developer interviews, commentary from key creators, and a foreword by Metroid Prime producer Kensuke Tanabe.

It looks to be a treasure trove for fans, featuring an extensive collection of concept art, sketches, and illustrations from Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Metroid Prime Remastered.
Earlier this year, Nintendo revealed Metroid Prime 4: Beyond with a 2025 release window. While no direct connection has been announced, the timing of the art book’s launch on July 31, 2025, could coincide with the highly anticipated release of the next installment in the series, and potentially even the Switch 2.
